Looming 23 floors above the streets of downtown Raleigh, the developers and construction crews of the SkyHouse apartment tower celebrated the ceremonial halfway mark of the project on Friday with a “topping off” party on the top floor.
The event also kicked off the project’s pre-leasing plan to begin signing up tenants for the 320 apartment units that should be ready for move-in by January 2015. The owners of Skyhouse has set up a leasing office at nearby City Market on Wolfe Street.
Novare Group, Batson-Cook Development Co. and Beacon Partners broke ground on the high-rise in November 2013, which means the 23-story building should be mostly finished within a 13-month time frame.
“SkyHouse Raleigh is on schedule, and we are pleased to begin offering residents the opportunity to be among the first people to live in this world-class building located in the heart of Raleigh,” says Jim Borders, president of Novare Group. “Batson-Cook Construction Company, through the use of lean construction techniques, has perfected the ability to methodically and expediently deliver a very high quality high rise community. I enjoy watching them work.”
The Raleigh tower is one of 11 SkyHouse-branded high-rises either open or under construction in the southeastern United States, including buildings in Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Austin, Orlando, Tampa and Charlotte.
